PSAT, Now What?
Thursday, January 19 | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. | York Chapel
During the month of October, your student participated in the official PSAT exam hosted at York School. The official results were released on your student’s College Board account in December 5. To access those scores, you can visit collegeboard.org and log in to your student’s dashboard.
To help parents understand what those scores mean and how they can be used for scholarships and college admissions, we are hosting a presentation on Thursday, January 19. Our partners at Revolution Prep will be conducting this presentation to help families understand their results and what the next steps should be. A Q&A will be held at the end of the presentation to address any questions you may have.
PSAT, Now What?
A student’s PSAT performance is an indicator of ACT/SAT readiness. This session covers how to use PSAT results to determine your child’s best plan for success, including:
-
How the SAT/ACT compares to the PSAT.
-
What your child’s score indicates about their future ACT/SAT performance.
-
Tips on how to increase an SAT/ACT score.
Questions? If you have additional questions or want to learn more about Revolution Prep, you can reach out to Jennifer Lawler at 213-891-1911 or jennifer.lawler@revolutionprep.com. |

As announced in last week's Falcon newsletter, all York School parents/guardians are invited to join a conversation with Krista Reuter, from the Ohana Center for Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health, who will talk about helping our children build foundational habits that support mental health (nutrition, exercise, sleep, and screen time limits). Krista also will address the importance of encouraging social connections and building resilience in promoting good mental health in teens, particularly as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. More information to come, but please save the date for this special evening!

2021-22 Impact Report Available
This week, parents received an email and link to the school's annual Impact Report, which includes a financial summary, donor recognition, and stories and highlights from the 2021-22 school year. We have arranged for all current parents to receive a hard copy version of the report, as it features the voices and faces of many current students and a feature article about York's role in bringing Title IX to high school athletics 50 years ago.
Please pick up your family's copy at the Main Office or at an upcoming parent event. If you wish to receive a copy by mail, please let us know at giving@york.org.
